A man wanted on multiple felony warrants led Michigan police on a wild motorcycle chase over the weekend that ended when the fleeing suspect crashed on a rough, off-road trail.
The pursuit began at about 8 p.m. Saturday when Grand Blanc Township police tried to stop a man—later identified as James Higgins—for riding a motorcycle without a valid registration plate, WJRT-TV reports. Higgins refused to stop, kicking off a 12-minute chase that went into Gaines Township.
Police continued pursuing Higgins as he sped past a "Road Ends" sign and onto a dirt path. Dashboard camera footage showed water from large puddles splashing the pursuing officer's windshield.
Finally, the chase ended when Higgins wiped out on his motorcycle. He surrendered and was taken into custody.
Higgins was wanted on a Michigan warrant for assaulting an officer and an Ohio warrant for drug trafficking. He faces additional charges, including third-degree fleeing and eluding police.
